- quarrels with house of commons – over money – he desolved parliament -> need of money forced him to recall parliament, but he had still problems with them
- PETITION OF RIGHTS - 1628 – parlament controled state money and law (Charles couldnt imprison anyone without lawful reason)
- It was problém, so he desolved parliament again
- Kirk can mean "church" in general or the Church of Scotland in particular
- In 1637he made a serious mistake – kirk had no bishops
- Puritans –they wanted democratic church
- He unliked puritans, although a lot of MPs were puritans
- He tried to introduce en. Church in Scotland – he wasnt sucessful – he faced a rebel scottish army – he knew he never defeat them, so he agree to respect them, after 11 years he was forced to rule under the parliament control
